National Conference And Nigerian Youths

When I had about the national conference, I was filled with Joy and Happiness; in the same vain I was sad because of the Nigerian phenomenon. My mind was divided; I could not immediately ascertain the trueness and fairness of the conference. Was it not  Mr. President who refused holding of any conference, be it sovereign or what ever name it is called.  Maybe God Almighty spoke to him in a dream or he is afraid of a parallel conference of PRONACO led by elder statesman Chief Anthony Enahoro. Could it not be that President Olusegun Obasanjo is trying to confuse us and distract the attention of Nigerians? Better still, calling a conference is one thing, implementing its decisions is another ball game.

The problem, I am foreseeing about the National Political Reform Conference, the National Assemble will jettison the legality thereby sidelining its resolution. Nigerians will not entertain any political statement by the Law makers, when the conference resolution will be sent to the flow of the house, If the Honourable members of the National Assembly have any resentments as to why they will not accept the conference resolution, this should be spelt out in black and white instead of waiting for the evil day. Nigerians are watching with keen interest. No amount of Political rhetoric’s will separate us from the reality this time. Clauses like, the conference did not follow due process; we did not support the conference; and more of such words, will be undermine by Nigerians. The national assemble scrupulously denied the conference from the onset hence they did not approve fund for it. Could it be a plot by BABA and the Honourable members to fool the entire country? Could it also be that they PDP members have a hidden agenda? Could this be a political joke of the century? The political barons should reach a compromise before the end of the conference.

Nigerians will not be lenient with any politician, who would want to jeopardize the new Nigeria in the making.

The names of delegates I read on the pages of Newspapers from various states were impressive. Men of integrity and women of virtue. I will be quick, to add that I saw some names of suicide bombers among the list, people who ruined the economic base of the country in the past. While we have confidence in most of the representatives, some are there because of the Allowee (Allowance), they don’t have anything to offer, rather their suggestion is devilish and with evil intention. These Political Idiot should be watched out for on the floor of the National Political Reform Conference.  We should resist them and send your inputs when the need arises. To you men and women of goodwill, you should put the nation at heart, try and revamp the country from those chuckles of corruption, infertility condemnation to a thrown in heavenly Zion.  Most of you (Delegates) are old men and women working tirelessly for our future. What do you want to be remembered for? This may be the last chance for you all to satisfy your conscience as in the case of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ, your meaningful contribution may consider you for heavenly glory, if your footprint is felt posterity will remember you for good. Even if, you cannot attain the height of the likes of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Former. American President Bill Clinton try to emulate them.

The constituency to which I belong (YOUTH), the youths of Nigeria under the auspices of Movement for Youth Actualization International (MYAI) a Non-Governmental Organization.  We pray the delegates of National Political Reform Conference to consider the youths in their deliberation. The youths see the conference as a good means of articulating their problems, addressing the neglect and injustice perpetrated against Nigerian Youths. This ranges from political, social, and economical problems. Most of our youths are passing through unwanted hardship in most cases for no fault of theirs. The youth who are the future leaders and elders of tomorrow, have been neglected, no policy to safeguard their future. Most of our youths in Diaspora are having their own share of the crisis, most of them are suffering and jobless, they can neither go here nor there, what is their faith. A child who does not have a Home prefer to stay under the bridge, hence they continue staying abroad no matter the situation and condition. They cannot come back home (Nigeria) where their future is not guaranteed. The youths who are the manpower of our country, are made to run out of our country, because of Joblessness. The  United Sates of America instituted the AMERICA VISA LOTTERY (America Visa Lottery is an Advance Slavery) years back to attract more people to America to beef up their manpower need.  Youths cover a wider spectrum of Nigeria population, delegates should engage in making policies that will empower youths, to compensate them for the long deprivation and neglect after many years of Independence. Whatever good policy fashioned for the youths will have a corresponding effect on the life of all delegates and the country at large.

Movement for youth actualization international (MYAI) has confidence in the conference. We do not want to believe that the National Political conference is a political rhytorics, a shadow of Oputa panel. I do not mind the name it is called be it sovereign or what ever, what we are mostly interested in, is that, the conference should be able to articulate a positive reform, put behind them, their personal agenda, which have no direct effect on the life of the people they are representing. President Olusegun Obasanjo should be open minded and ready to accept the resolution of the conference.

In conclusion, MYAI pray God should guide the utterances of delegate, articulate in them knowledge that surpasses all understanding, for them to judge correctly, see reasons for compromise not minding whose ass is gad.
