Cyber Crime is a computer related crime; the syndrome of cyber crime is currently growing momentum in the Nigeria community. It is becoming synonymous with Nigerians on Internet most especially with our foreign counterparts; they see us in this part of the word as cyber crime infected.  However, cyber crime is not limited to Nigerians alone, it is eventually everywhere as it cut across the length and breathe of the globe, that as it may, it is pertinent to note that, within the Internet users they see Nigerians as the LORDS and CHIEFTAINS of cyber crime in the world. Cyber Crime is not limited to financial fraud but any act on net that is inimical and detrimental to human existence, which ranges to (child pornography, hate crimes, telemarketing /Internet fraud). In addition to cyber crime, there is also “computer-supported crime” which covers the use of computers by criminals for communication and document or data storage. While these activities might not be illegal in and of themselves, they are often invaluable in the investigation of actual crimes. Most cyber crimes listed are not inducing in our system compare to the developed countries.

Pornography

Pornography is the act of viewing sex hackers online; it is a common trend with our school children, their common interest is watch does necked ladies and men with impunity and at the end of the day practicalise what they have watched. The cyber cafes’ should try as much as possible to barricade our young once from visiting the website of pornography; it is sending a wrong signals as to what they will be in future. In as much as the Internet is good it also has its bad omen as to the education of the younger once.  Also chat room is another way where this sex hackers use in getting to their timid population, it comes as an invitation by the sex hackers for you to view their cam and eventually what you will see is a necked women.

One of the ways that child pornography harms the children is that the materials that capture the child in pornography are permanent and that permanent record increases the harm to the child when it is circulated. Secondly, the continued distribution of such material contributes to the demand of child pornography that requires more children to be exploited. In other to save the future generation a strict measure should be put in place to caution the effect of pornography among the young children, we should not wait until this ugly trend has become the order of the day in the Nigeria society before solution are preferred to the down trodden.

Cyber Crime “Internet Fraud”

The term "Internet fraud" refers generally to any type of fraud scheme that uses one or more components of the Internet - such as chat rooms, e-mail, message boards, or Web sites - to present fraudulent solicitations to prospective victims, to conduct fraudulent transactions, or to transmit the proceeds of fraud to financial institutions or to other connected with the scheme.

If you use the Internet with any frequency, you will soon see that people and things online tend to move, as the saying goes, on "Internet time." For most people, that phrase simply means that things seem to happen more quickly on the Internet -- business decisions, information-searching, personal interactions, to name a few - and to happen before, during, or after ordinary "bricks-and-mortar" business hours.

Unfortunately, people who engage in fraud (Cyber Crime) often operate in "Internet time" as well. They seek to take advantage of the Internet's unique capabilities -- for example, by sending e-mail messages worldwide in seconds, or posting Web site information that is readily accessible from anywhere in the world - to carry out various types of fraudulent schemes more quickly than was possible with many fraud schemes in the past.

These Cyber Crime Lord are bent on sitting close to their computer with the business of sending Spam to various mail boxes as the case maybe, a lot of people has falling victim of this fraudulent act and are still trying to recover from the shock. In variable, the cyber lord has seen the business as lucrative like their political counterpart as an easy way of making cool money. The strategy of these Cyber Crime Lord is changing from time to time with different dimension. In the past; it was in the form of “TRANSFER OF MONEY” from one bank to another bank, it later came in the form of LOTTERY with the caption CONGRATULATIONS OR URGENT REPLY NEEDED only recently it has wore a newly look with the caption SUPPLY OF CRUDE OIL. These mails are baseless and the handwork of the cyber crime lord we should not be carried away on the basis of quick riches and thereby destroying your future in heritage. The writer of this Article is creel to this cyber crime lords, each time I receive mail from them I always ask them how do they get my mail address, lo and behold they will not reply the mail and that will scare them from you (recipient). We should be watchful and vigilant, do not give in to their request, sort your self and be nice not in hast of making money, you will over come their timid strategies.

Internet crime is demoralizing our image in the international community whereas. This crime are done by selected few, it is despicable, when I saw in google search a tip on how to curb the Nigeria Cyber Crime System, I became ashamed of our beloved country in the verge of the circumstances befalling us due to some means grant who are bent on drawing the name of the country to the mould.

I firmly believe that sometime this decade the wisdom of doing business on the Internet will be severely questioned by companies and individuals. It shatters public confidence in the Internet, too. There are just too many people out there trying too many ways of fraudulently getting private information.

We should not judge initial appearance of any website and don’t be carried away by the good look of such sites, If you see e-mail messages from someone you do not know that ask you for personal data, do not sent any data to such person. There is a saying “ better late than never” we should learn from the mistake of others. Never be a victim before you are informed.
