"Winning is not everything, it is the only thing." So said the legendary football coach Vince Lombardi. Lombardi was talking about his NFL teams. But those words could also be used to describe the attitude of the President Obasanjo led PDP from a very negative sense.

The PDP is a party in the game of winning at all cost, a party that has dashed hope, desire and aspiration and all the purpose of living of the Nigerian man. Ideally a Political Party is a group of persons who seek to control government through the winning of elections and the holding of public office, this though is broad a definition. However in a narrow sense a Political Party is a group of people joined together on the basis of common principles, which seek to control government in order to bring about the adoption of certain Public policies and programmes.

Even an insane man knows today like the President himself confirmed that the Peoples Democratic Party is a bunch of ‘Militicians’ (Military politicians and apologists), a bed of confused ideologists, dancing to different tunes that is best described as discordant. Exploring to the maximum the maxim of no permanent friends nor enemies thus killing the opposition and exhibiting nothing but cruel naivety, and gross immaturity. With father ‘I-to-know’ Obasanjo, nobody expects otherwise, an ex-convict now being blurred by over-ambition with cronies like the crooked Senator Ibrahim Mantu, whose constitution review committee has recommended a ‘Sit-Tight’ arrangement by the six year single tenure rubbish.

Professor Iwu, the chemistry don, at INEC is a genius, he will be the one to pioneer the electronic rigging of 2007, depending on the kind of elections we will have if we have one after all.

With the PDP Chairman the other day talking of the PDP membership of over 10 million I shed tears, at the over 10 million that are willingly committing suicide, sacrificing their lives for a cause undefined.

Often, Nigerians are exaggerative, do you blame us? When out 8 of 10 Nigerian politicians is a potential or practicing crook, then safely you cannot but conclude that the bunch is certainly rotten. From Dariye, Alamieyeseigha, Wabara, Ngige, Bukola Saraki, Oyinlola, Obasanjo, Atiku, Marwa, IBB et al very few of these men can pass the morality test.

The recent plans to tinker with constitution goes further to cement the thinking that Nigeria is doomed by the kind of leadership our so-called messiahs have been providing. The PDP is finding it difficult to hold its own convention, from one court action to the other. Yet it has continued to plant insurgents in other Political Parties.

Some of us are tired of hearing that the Vice President and some Governors are strategizing to form a new party or to take on the PDP. This nation needs a strong people oriented movement. The fact that the PRONACO group has being finding it hard to put their acts together, certainly demonstrates that Nigeria has a problem and is treading the path of becoming a failed state. Because such bodies are the very few which the common sees as an option out the quagmire the PDP led government has been.

A dying man on his bed, started confessing to his wife, the following conversation ensued. "Honey I am dying, I have something to tell you", the wife replied "No, sweetheart, save your breath, don’t worry". The husband insisted "No, I must tell you", the wife responded "Don’t talk, you will be fine", the man refused and continued "Darling, I have not been faithful to you", the wife answered "I know, don’t worry". The husband continued "I cheated on you, I slept with your sister, your best friend, my secretary…" the wife calmly told him "Don’t worry the poison is working".

For the Peoples Democratic Party has raped our society, far worse than our man above. The party has thrown to the wind the real true democrats, though I must state the democrats could do better than the pages of newspaper noise they make all the time. The other parties should find a melting ground that can be the bedrock of a formidable opposition that can lead the nation out of its present state. They can and should mobilize the masses to take their destiny in their hands.

The Peoples Democratic Party since, the advent of our recent democratic experiment (in Nigeria we are scientists experimenting all over lives without any discovery or invention of note) has been committing to heinous crimes and self-confessing to these crimes. From rigging, arson, assassination, and stealing without conscience. The confession of the rigging in Anambra by the President is a confirmation that the crime unashamedly was committed in virtually all PDP territory. Every state with the PDP in power is a rigged environment. The magic of the 2003 election would marvel the legendary magician Prof. Peller of Ibadan fame.

Nigerians should poison the PDP, it’s leadership and all it stands for. The present regime that has been priding itself as a democracy has continually spent its energies suppressing the demands of the people and suppressing all that is identified with the people, supervising the sale of all that stands for the masses’ collectively will. The PDP together with the administration is a colonial arrangement that is more concerned with pleasing the IMF, Paris Club and Brentwood Institutions. The colonialism must stop. The PDP is an imperialist conduit pipe.

A Peoples’ revolution that would be guided is the antidote to the political and democratic misbehaviour of the present era. The PDP’s fascism which is protecting capitalism with dangerous interest and subverting national liberation efforts as its ruthless apparatus is spread to stem the growing tide of a strong nationalistic opposition. We must arrest the economic robbers, who daily are in the game of mortgaging the lives of millions. If at all we are practicing democracy, it is obvious that we are in trouble, big trouble at that. As I watched the launch of the N1000 note I cried for our nation, all sorts of economic jargon were used to confuse the masses, the 100 and 500 notes came and the 1 Naira coin disappeared, gradually the 5 Naira note is walking to the museum. The topmost citizens shared our collective farm while smiling the President got currency note with number 001, the VP 002, Senate President 003 and the sharing amongst crooks continued.

Nigerians ought to stand up and be counted in this project of poisoning the PDP. If not the gradual (need I say) the soonest death of democracy in the land is not far away.

The PDP is now Obasanjo’s machinery for a life Presidency agenda, the House Of Representatives and Senate Northern block should do more than mere meetings, they should shout it loud for all to hear, their South-South, South-East counterparts should do same together with progressives in the West. Because anybody who says otherwise about Obasanjo having gained total control of the PDP to invent his own kind of democracy which is dictatorial "Obasanjoicy’.

As the PDP has in recent times had the President’s eyes fixated on it in the brouhaha of weeding it, it has used several armchair twisting tactics that reminds one of the military era in dealing with the opposition.

The PDP has turned the nation into a cult, doing most things in total secrecy and using ambush tactics, its recent revalidation and re-registration and congresses has been a show of brazenness. The new PDP unfolding is no new PDP but Obasanjo’s PDP, the real issues are still there, and there are no fresh ideals or philosophy, which will make it different from the PDP we know. A tree that is not productive, nor with a defined purpose and direction should be poisoned and cut down. May Allah help us.
