People whose disposition is to lure Ndiigbo to perform miraculous impossibility on survival matters must first convince of their own super intelligent design to overcome and endure such first. Alas, the constant rule changes mid game are designed to keep the Igbo down and away for them to feel sense of triumph. What the Igbo experience is is an echo that returns back what you give to them, be it hot load of crap, kindness or whatever, you have it coming back at ya, this way no one is shortchanged. I am as a matter of urgency encouraging every Igbo to be on red alert since no specialized training is required to see our slow decimation with the aid of the aberrant among us who must also be simultaneously and harshly dealt with for sanity to return to our land. In elementary football parlance; “ihe anyi nu bu“ - what we are in - can simply be described as; “Five-Minute onwu na ndu” – meaning end of regulation time, extra time if you will where the rules are no longer applied stringently by the referee, dog-eat-dog period. Stud/tackle time!

Oftentimes we hear about decorum, respect, civility, esteem as if they grow on a sycamore tree for Igbo adversaries to pluck at will unmindful of its reciprocity. Don’t we deserve the same respect, I ask? To ever remain vigilant is an obligation, a duty every legit Igbo owe especially at these magical times when the existence of the Nigerian union that anchored on neck-twisting is not guaranteed anymore. For any to be unconcerned is to say that you are exempt from obliteration when the Nigerian evil train rolls around, the eloquent expression of your apathy when translated is that you will be excused and that to me is juvenile because when our opponents yap Igbo this, Biafra that, MASSOB this, I do not see them excusing you as their “detribalized” and “sophisticated” “Ivy league” educated paddy, no. So, instead of junketing around the bush, you better quit playing and get serious before you are swept under the current with the rest of your clan. Remember that; “onye ndi iro gbara gburugburu na eche ndu ya nche ngbe n’ile.“ Be wise! While some may docilely react to loose knots, on the other side, my preference is a lethal system that would aid deliver a sucker punch all over, be it the groin, eyeballs, teeth or what have you, care, I don’t. I’m cool like that!

Here is what people who through the Nigerian misinformation adventure are brainwashed do, they scribble articles that vilify the Igbo without recognizing our value yet doggedly want the same to forgo their pursuit to perpetual bliss from the present contamination called Nigeria, a contradiction of position too bitter to gulp. With each contradiction, Igbo bashers flip-flop their way into oblivion. Their propensity to attack with vicious intensity is what binds them together as ‘One-Nigerians.’ Either the Igbo are awful and in that case let go or as evidenced highly beneficial in which case nothing short of respect and equity that is overdue would satisfy as I reaffirm my wish for the Eastern Regioners to form a country away from the present mess. In general, these anti-Igbo articles to a rookie may look innocent enough to not warrant a response, but that is the catch since on deeper probe a hidden diabolic side almost always surfaces. The affront arises when such articles originate from people who ought to be close family to Ndiigbo, making it more painful to feign ignorance to such provocative and uneducational insinuations that are usually full of wicked lies.

When this happens one can with competent assumption safely conclude that the crap has gone nuclear like in fatal result. What must follow this life threatening situation if you catch my trip is an unrestricted harsh rebuttal otherwise impetuous encouragement is given to copycats whose dream of becoming wannabe Igbo basher is realized sooner. Try to imagine that communities and people who are beneficiaries of Igbo warmth to our astonishment are the ones in the business of disparaging everything about their benefactor. The sickening effect comes on the heels of what the kinds of Ojukwu as a Colonel in the sixties did to arrest the situation (riot) in one of the minority areas of the country contrary to the orders given to him. The pain of these people did not go unnoticed as he lamented how a country could be so callously wicked towards her citizens after his refusal to carryout the injunction of Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa for an Obasanjo Zaki-Biam and Odi type massacres on the unarmed people of this region. The antithesis of what was required of him was what he did by subduing his passion in humanity to let reason prevail. Still, no reprieve for the Igbo?

My earlier (many months ago) anxiety is today slowly being allayed due in part to the information exchanges that may have nudged people to conform to decency with their misdirected anger put on leach as we sip from each other’s bank of knowledge. There was a time on Gamji the daily high of some youths from a particular minority area arouse from their mountains of anti-Igbo articles. Although, their violent antics has somewhat submerged some still lurk around with evil intentions. Speaking of anti-Igbo write-ups, how can I forget a mention of the university don it is on record Ikemba rescued his father from near annihilation and obscurity during the banishment imposed on him by his community elders in the sixties? Knowing of these, you ask yourself whether it is still okey dokey to show benevolence towards humanity. Aside from being engineering lecturer today, you can call this fella among other things, Igbo RockThrower-in-Chief. All the indicted used to operate outside the bounds of reason with brazen arrogance before a decision was made to meet them and their funky gibberishes head-on. Ndiigbo get hammered from left, right, center, back and front and I wonder if it is just me that noticed. Just because the Igbo are perceived as Nigeria mortal enemy does not make it so for it is common saying in the U.S. that when one assumes, the assumption usually turns out wrong. Can I get a witness? Don’t ya get me rolling!

Three or so weeks ago, a post on Gamji that was empty of knowledge captioned; ”Why Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, Shunned Ogoni & Saro Wiwa in an All-Souths-Unity Congress“ by one Cornelius Dumerene, an Ogoni who for all applicability is supposed to be kin to Ndiigbo, ushered in the New Year viciously attacking the Igbo yet again and again as passages below will reveal. My thing is this, who really gives a damn whether or not Chimaroke Nnamani shunned Saro-Wiwa? This guy’s article clearly exposed a man struggling with serious confusion with his finger pointing everywhere and nowhere in the hope that his northern masters would somehow be impressed and wave a magic wand that would excavate his god from wherever Abacha dumped him. Had this been a card game (Tear or Gbanguduma - lol), I did place my bet on some of our northern neighbors whose thinking faculties are still intact being amazed how folks like subject still act upon his Igbo brethren as his everlasting enemies while those who tormented the weeping Mary out of them are received with warm respect in place of a war of no backing down. Then, you murmur to yourself; what’s up with all these b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t. coming from these blokes? These fellas are as offensive as they are full of pebble sh*t. Simple. They may in fact gain little mileage if they tone their juvenile bickering about their imaginary Igbo occupation, whatever that means to squarely face their real abusers. Imagine the twit below the Igbo have to contend with that revealed the mindset of a guy who unfairly placed all their life’s miseries at our doorpost:

”The Ibos already position themselves to take over Port Harcourt and Rivers state, with 80 % of the properties in Port Harcourt, Rivers States, belonging to the Ibos. Governor Spief quickly moved to cut up the occupation threat by repossessing these properties back to the owners and the government. This ended the intended Ibo’s occupation of the Niger Delta.

Though the war took away thirty thousand lives of his tribe’s population and undisclosed number of lives of the Niger Delta people. He was certified that it is rather okay to be with people that will not turn you into slavery than people that were determined to stripped them of their belonging and make them slaves in their land.”

It is so annoyingly revolting to have to read this garbage. If truth still means a thing they should then know that this is one of those rare times the knack roars to cut through the chase and rip right through the diplomatic merry-go-round to call them what they are, mental midgets. I have no use for intellectual nonentities, no patience for them to the extent that I toss and jerk them around just to wake them up from their slumbering utopia to have a better focus as to who is vaporizing them. Know why? The last time I checked it was under Abacha with Oladipo Diya as his 2iC (Second-in-Command) that brought revolving hell in Ogoniland with no single Igbo proximate to the sit of power. Talk about misplaced anger! If the likes of Cornelius Dumerene should keep harping and flaming their anti-Igbo views they must be tutored to appreciate that for a mere six months the government of a man who surrounded himself with foul enemies (Gowon, Murtala, Danjuma etc), the number one detribalized Nigerian, General J.T.U. Aguinyi-Ironsi lasted whereas others have ruined, oops ruled the nation for a combination of forty plus years. Since these individuals are yet to present any mitigating factor to support their open hostility towards the Igbo it might avail them to absolutely tone down their carbonated rhetoric, an ill wind that pays no one no dividends. This simple observation it seems rocketed pass them.

Each time I try to fully understand that similac fed article I wonder off to think maybe it was meant to be a New Year gift to his northern lords who as far as we know could not have cared more for them than their kin in the core east. My thing is this, to let every riffraff define what Igbo territories should be is akin to giving your opponent a gun to shoot you. How anyone, except those on Lactogen- baby food failed to understand that Port Harcourt is actually an undiluted ịkwerre terrain and it being another Igbo family only separated from its kin by vernacular just like every other Igbo hamlets, is not Yoroba, Bini or Awusa land. This chap’s article could have been stomached had it come from a registered Igbophobe, but him? Uh uh! As a staunch believer that any form of deference to persons that seek to destroy us beyond what they deserve is a stretch, it will be begging it for an honorable mention. Many brothers who are writing epitomes may approach these provocateurs with modesty which they usually and flagrantly abuse, not this essayist. On closer scrutiny you did notice that the folks who display this level of ingratitude are those beholden to inferiority issues. While Mr. Wiwa may have convinced some of his people about his angelic posture, to us he was a total ingrate whose payback to all he got from us was alarming scorn and subterfuge. No one should be receptive to those who hate his identity and if that translates in their definition as bad, then call me bad man.  It’s all good. For any man who does not with sincerity love his people loses the essence of living.

So that Mr. Cornelius may know, I encountered his type during the period in mid 90s out of family obligation I relocated to their Nigeria. It was during my employment with an engineering company in Port Harcourt that I encountered a few confused chaps like him and believe me when I say they were straightened out. Usually I begin by letting them know who the true son-of-the-soil is having been born and reared in that city many, many years ago. Then I move onto the area that stares them bare in the face, areas like Ogbunabali in Port Harcourt with the development signature of the so-called indigenes, which to me is an idle shanty town. Another section littered with huts barely big enough for a school pupil is Woji (Nwoji) misspelled out of spite for Ndiigbo and also to impress their northern lords, nevertheless, it too lacked the development touch of the Igbo yet only one’s torso would satisfy the rent requirements. My dear brother, I was in that quasi country when Abacha, your master cancelled the Ogoni god, Kenule Saro-Wiwa and I can say this much; I resented the process through which he was hanged although I do not miss him. This reasoning was informed from the abuse of the system that took away a man’s life however vile he was while his appeal was in progress. Such process does not merit any kind mention. Most Igbo and in fact Nigerians share this sentiment, hear me? My stern belief then as now is that Abacha had no moral or legal grounds to snuff the life out of this god if his right to appeal was not exhausted as evidence showed yet he was terminated. I was on the ground this is no hearsay, I went through gloomy days that resulted in loss of sleep and appetite.

As a person that showed care to the welfare of a displaced Ogoni family here in the States, I refuse to look the other way while my heritage is coincidentally being muddied by a delusional Ogoni. The author should not be seen to have gotten away with his inflammatory passion lest it becomes a way of life, a tradition. As effort is made to reach others who may be in the same ignorant pit, let us be mindful who is doing what to Nigerians. It never bothered this dude that a Yoroba, Oladipo Diya was the number two to Abacha when the double agent was lynched yet in this prodigal’s mind, they loved Wiwa and his people more than the Igbo ever would. In his view, Saro-Wiwa’s love for the Igbo is so great that in one of his babbling books, "On a Darkling Plane" all his references to the Great State of Biafra were in small letters knowing of our dear hold for same. All the outlandish commentaries by the short hand grenade never bothered this fella yet he flooded peppered lies as facts hoping no one would notice? Mr. Wiwa took his Igbo hate too far when he even gloated over the butchery of innocent Igbo civilians in northern Nigeria, mocking that the Igbo needed a “baptism of fire.” Also, not only did he support the forced seizure of Igbo properties in Rivers state, he presented justification for it too. He equally went as far as crediting the warmonger, Yakubu Gowon, with Pa Awo’s release from prison instead of Colonel Emeka Ojukwu whose solid control of the territory where the sage was serving time for treason is not debatable. The question is could someone like Jack Gowon who never had physical control of Calabar, a Biafran territory then influence the release of a prisoner under the clams of General Emeka Ojukwu? Yet this was the position Wiwa took. Only in his imagination of course!

Yet another low was when Mr. Cornelius Dumerene wished for the entire Igbo nation especially Chief Emeka Ojukwu to perpetually remain sorrowful for Mr. Saro-Wiwa’s end. ”Odumeku Ojukwu and other Ibos were very pleased with the dead of Ken,“ moaned Cornelius. And I am like, is something still impossible, like grieving for a bigot who hated one’s existence? It is worth trying to imagine how these folks would have reacted had it been someone who with boiling passion hated the Ogoni that was hanged by Abacha. Is there any doubt that such an event would have automatically elicited their excitement? I betcha ya no Ogoni worth his/her onion cried for Abacha’s unpresidential demise, if this is true and you know it is then unfair double standard is created when Ndiigbo are eternally expected to be mournful for this man’s exit. It took the dangerous anti-Igbo propaganda tantrum of Ken Saro-Wiwa for it to dawn on me how scornfully some Ogonis looked at the “regional superpower” (apology to Honorable Kevin Ani). Prior to the advent of the GENOCAUST - genocide and holocaust against the Igbo by Nigeria, one of my family’s house help was an Ogoni who as a youngster I and my younger uncles affectionately and respectfully called bro, short for brother. Noticed house help was used and not house boy in reverence to this gentleman who too died fighting the Biafran war of self defense. At this point, a second or third visit to that article might convince Mazi Cornelius how easily an Igbo like me could have been offended by it. The long and short of it is, if the Ogonis have any issues they better haul them to the people responsible for their crisis, those who desecrated their lands and stay the hell off our backs. In today’s Nigeria as in the sixties, all the variables responsible for the Igbo crave for a separate nation not only exist, but have since quadrupled. So, for all that could be said about Biafra, we the bonafides simply call it home. Know what, gentlemen will always understand the Igbo plight in Nigeria others must!

”The real tragedy of Mr Wiwa is that this particular chap has chosen to assault is grotesque memory in a very bizarre and pointed way by posting this silly rant to a Hausa-Fulani website, the same group who not only hanged Saro-wiwa but also poured acid on his body! “ - Mazi K.A.
