Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or Slaughtering People Cult (SPC) of Nigeria

Since the inception of Obasanjo’s misrule in 1999, Nigerians have been experiencing the worst imaginable socio economic conditions which among others include insecurity for life & property, hunger & disease, penury & despair as well as   decaying services. All these ills are happening in the face of massive oil profits.

Worst of it all is that the PDP has been all along operating like a mega cult. Let us recall the characteristics of cult organisations. They usually have insatiable lust for power and wealth which they can go to any extent in acquiring. They don’t conduct their affairs by negotiation or persuasion, instead they believe in bribing their way, snatching or stealing what ever they can’t get by legal means. Mutual respect and trust is alien to their relationship instead they maintain hierarchy by blind loyalty and mutual elimination. Mass killings and high profile murders in which culprits escape justice is one of their modus operandi, because spilling human blood in vain is one of their cardinal rituals.

The PDP showed its true colours immediately it was voted in to power in 1999, when it started crude nepotism and disregard for rule of law and due process in governance. For example Obasanjo disregarded due process by monopolising the Petroleum Resources Ministry to his office in order to swindle the profits accruing from sale of Nigeria’s crude oil and his cruel arbitrary hiking of oil prices. He has never presented a budget to the nation until this year. No wonder a bold member of the parliament booed him during his attempt to deliver his first budget speech in Seven years. Apart from the above, the PDP privatised almost the whole nation’s resources to its members and cronies. It seemed as typical cultist the have a primitive desire to acquire wealth to satisfy their insatiable greed and as an instrument for maintaining power at all cost.

On the political side it seemed they had not only rigged the 2003 elections but they used the opportunity of the election rigging to commit another crime, that is sharing Plateau state’s ecological fund of 1.8 billion Naira among themselves in the PDP hierarchy. Dariye’s revelation has virtually incriminated the Presidency and PDP hierarchy, yet they want another term to commit more crimes.

Violence is one of the crudest instruments used by the PDP. The massacres of Odi and Zaki Biyam would never be forgotten by Nigerians. Typical cult organisations usually kill members who decided to opt out of the organisation or non members who discover their secrets. Investigation of crimes by cult organisations is usually difficult to conclude because witnesses and judges are harassed by the cultist.

Bola Ige a serving Minister of Justice was assassinated in his house a year before the last elections. Suspects in the case even contested elections, rigged and won. The judge in the case resigned!

Chuba Okagdibo, a former senate president and PDP member was blackmailed out of the Senate Presidency and then later on he left the PDP to join the opposition ANPP. He later died in mysterious circumstances after inhaling tear gas from the Government’s security agencies.

Asari Dokubo a PDP stalwart from the Niger Delta was cut down by

“armed robbers” according to Obasanjo who told the whole nation even before investigations commenced. No news about the outcome of the investigations was ever heard again.

Most recently, while Abubakar Rimi (a former Board of Trustees member of the PDP) was attending a lecture commemorating the 40th anniversary of Sardauna’s death in Kaduna, some people went to his house and slaughtered his wife. Rimi has informed the whole world that the killing of his wife is due to his opposition of the 3rd term agenda and even went on to point accusing fingers to the mastermind of the crime whom he called “ A bigman from Kano who is holding a big position in Abuja.”

The relationship between members of the PDP includes sycophancy, humiliation, blind loyalty and blackmail. Sycophancy is so much an article of faith in the PDP that is why Atiku and Dariye even in their troubles with Obasanjo often extol his “virtues” and are not tired of rehearsing their loyalty. Dissenting members or those of doubtful loyalty are always blackmailed, humiliated or eliminated in one way or the other.

The PDP also depends upon blood in its rituals like oath taking. Just a year ago Chris Uba a PDP stalwart from Anambra state and currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP told the whole world that he took Chris Ngige to the Okija shrine  for oath taking to guarantee absolute loyalty to him. The whole world was surprised when it was discovered that the Okija shrine rituals involved blood and sacrifice to false deities maintained by priests who usually devour the offerings.

In conclusion the Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria should change its name to Slaughtering People Cult of Nigeria. Nigerians should cut all relationship with anyone still in the PDP since they conduct their activities like cultists.

Yours faithfully,
