Let me start by saying categorically that this article has nothing to do with the third term saga that is making headlines across the country, equally it has nothing to do with taking sides in the fight between the two world most corrupt and criminal leaders ever that this country had, leaders that have been holding us in the décolletage sucking our blood for the past seven years, but for the fear of being labelled amongst those who have given the third term a silent consent, I will like to say this here for the records; that I am body and soul anti-third term in whatever form or nature, I am ready to fight it in anyway possible, to be candid I am ready to jump into trenches next to anyone in the fight against third term; except the Vice President, Atiku, to go into the trenches with him, I think I will prefer to stand outside where I can be easily picked by even an armature shooter, reasons; that will be a subject for another write up coming soon.

This article is about what has been happening to us in Adamawa for the past three to four years, agreed that although Adamawa state is the VP home state, it can boast next to nothing when it come to infrastructural development, both local and federal, it is a fact today that not a single federal presence can be attributed to the VP even though it was universally agreed that from 1999 to 2003 he was the world most powerful VP, years that if he wished and have the heart he can turn Adamawa into a land of milk and honey, yet those years pass us by without a blink.  The only thing we all can remember about those years was the next to total colonisation of the state by the VP and his cronies; where by the VP managed to buy all buyable things and the building of mansions for himself and his siblings all over the state capital and the building ABTI Business Empire.

The Vice President like any other citizen of the country also has the right to buy, sell and own any property or business(es) this I concede to him, how he was able to amass such wealth within  a very short period of time to do all this is Ribadu’s and other security agencies headache, but one thing that is crystal clear to all, is that at no time Atiku or his very many boot lickers and cronies have ever state that the great ABTI business empire is located in Yola for the sake of the citizenry or as a philanthropic gesture, so for anyone this writer inclusive to expect otherwise is incongruous.  The presence of ABTI in Yola is simply for the free peasant land it’s occupying.

But the location of this business empire in Yola has turn into a great calamity of unimaginable propos ion to the people of the locality, how? This is what this article will try to explain.  You see since the beginning of ABTI American University, the people of Yola and its environs knows no power, it is an impossibility to have power for more than three hours a day, except if Atiku is wedding his daughters, this is simply because the state share of the power from the national greed can not sustain 24hrs service to ABTI and more than 3hours of power to other parts of the state, this has been our experience for the pass three to four years now, it has become our routine to the extend that everybody in the state have retreat to fate, yet PHCN(NEPA) under the callous and criminal leadership of Engr. Atiku Abubakar Tambuwal (VP name shake) is still subjecting the populace to a bill that do not reflect the power  we consume. This has greatly affected small scale business and investments that require power for its sustenance.

Now lets do the arithmetic and see, for about eight to nine years now in Yola both PHCN(NEPA) customers that have and have not meters are given bill based on estimated consumption, this we all know is a normal norm under PHCN(NEPA); reasons? nobody can tell, the estimated billing is as follows: those with TPh (in a ordinary man language we say those with three phase) is assumed to consume 600unit in a month, while SL (i.e. single phase) attracts 300units, for each unit PHCN(NEPA) charge is N4.  To understand this very well we need to understand what is this unit? A unit is 50 circles of your meter, while a circle under normal circumstance that is when you are not using Electric Heater, Iron or AC or other very high consuming appliances will take 4 to 7 minute to complete.  Now here is the catch assuming you enjoy 24hrs service for the month that is 720hrs uninterrupted power supply, that is when PHCN (NEPA) expect you to consume the 300 or 600unit which will amount to N1200 or N2400 respectively, now in a situation where your consumptions is within the range of 90hours of power in a month what do you think you are suppose to pay? Less than N400.  But today who in Yola receives such a just bill? We continue to pay full bill while the power is given to ABTI, the only place in the whole of Adamawa that enjoy 24hours service, therefore it means we all contribute to settling ABTI PHCN (NEPA) bills, sources close to the PHCN(NEPA) revealed that ABTI just pay less a Million in a month to PHCN(NEPA) as its electricity bill.

Well at this juncture I wish challenge the CEO of PHCN (NEPA) Yola Zonal Office or his PRO to come out and prove me wrong with facts and figures, I even challenge them if they have one moral fibre in them to publish the PHCN (NEPA) bills of ABTI, let them tell the whole world what formula do they use to arrive at the less one million they charge monthly to ABTI as electricity rate considering all the powerful gadget and machines they use both in the construction and in the school and why do we continue to pay for the power that ABTI is using. We may not get this from the PHCN (NEPA) today, but I hope Ribadu is reading and one day he will come into PHCN (NEPA) and all our monies that were and are still being stolen for ABTI will be retrieved and paid back to us.

It is known the world over that after the Presidency and Police, PHCN(NEPA) is the next most corrupt institution in the country, but yet still Adamawa citizens will never ever forget the reign of Engr. Abubakar Atiku Tambawal of this most corrupt institution; were they see the complete politicization of PHCN(NEPA) and the advent of what have come to be known as HOT LINE which is dedicated to Atiku and his cronies spread all over the state, it is under his leadership that PHCN(NEPA) became an appendage of ABTI.  Well, today the CEO may be enjoying his association with the high and the mighty but another day we hope he will regret his actions and soon this will come to pass.  It is also our prayer that EFCC will come in and rescue us, though we all know that the problem of PHCN (NEPA) is nation wide, but our grudge with Engr. Atiku’s PHCN (NEPA) here in Yola is he is stealing our money on behalf of ABTI so we want our money back.  Attn: EFCC, Attn: MR. PRESIDENT.
