It has become what every body says that almost every place in Nigeria will soon be littered with Baales if we continue with this ilk of rigmarole. The fight between territories would become day-to-day transaction subsequently. So, each bus stop or junction would be niched to a Baale each.

Currently, Ifo has two Obas, which has erupted an internal pandemonium at Ifo. The Olu of Ifo was made by Alake of Egbaland and has been conspicuous as the Oba of Ifo, but after him, did the Olowu of Owu make another Oba to rule in the same Ifo. The rule of two Obas has caused an internal fracas in the Ifo land, as two kings cannot share one kingdom.

Still sick about this bizarre and nauseating transpiration at Ifo, the Olowu of Owu land nominated another Baale at his place in Abeokuta and sent the fineries down to Otta land where the nominated would serve as Baale at Itele, in Otta land. Initially, the yester-Baale of the said Itele had joined his ancestors and the necessary rites were still being put in place by the Otta indigenes as regards installing another Baale. However, the smart Owus might have thought it too late or archaic to do some rites before another Baale could be installed, and quickly made another Baale on their own as a stitch in time, saves nine.

Earlier, the idea of making a Baale or Oba at a land beyond one’s territory was allegedly started by the Alake of Egba land, where he made a Baale at an arena in the Otta land. This action was countered by the indigenes of the Otta land as they seized the paraphernalia sent by Alake to the Otta land. Till today, those seized items are still in the Olota’s palace.. The step taken by Alake which was tackled, negated and foiled, is now hobnobbed by Olowu -whose volition is to make an Oba at Ijoko-Otta, Sango-Otta, Attan-Otta, and every nukes and crannies of Otta subsequently. The debris of the made Baale at Itele is yet not cleared, when the Ijoko issue was launched. This time, the ever-quiet Otta indigenes were irked and they where left no choice than to boycott the intruders. The steps were knavish to the Otta indigenes, as they quickly understood that Otta was almost invaded. Their clamoring is simply that the people of the Gaul should do installation of an Oba or Baale if there is the need for it at all, not an outsider on their land.

The various Egba/Owus residing in Otta and the Otta indigenes became cats and dogs. The attempt of the Egba/Owus who have taken Otta for an abode to defend their individual positions verbally in the Otta/Owu’s chieftancy tussle only infuriated the Ottas, and they jousted against each other. Sporadic display of broken bottles and sharp objects on the air, slapping, blow exchanges, stabbings, Road blocked! Bus demolished, and cutlasses for sale in a shop were evacuated for fight. Pedestrians, cabs, schoolboys and girls, roadside market sellers and hawkers disappeared with pronto alacrity.

Who is to install king and baale impregnated the atmosphere with what gave birth to fracas between the Ota land and Owu Egbaland. The case which has been in the pipeline for a long time, has been tripped to court for justice. The mystique of the Baales made and sent fineries indicated that a baale made by an Oba outside the jurisdiction of Otta was to rule in Otta land. The ota indigenes, knowing the deep nuance of the gamble and implication that the intrusive Oba makers’ volition were to extend their authorities to the Ota/Awori land fought the system.

The Ijoko kingship installment has been concluded by the indigenes who had began to call chief Matanmi the H.R.M of Ijoko as though he has been made king. The indigenes of the Otta land have concluded the one to take the position. This step was taken to prevent further intrusions.

The claim of chief matanmi as the king depicts the penchant of the indigenes in the prospective Matanmi.

However president Olusegun Obasanjo has been pointed an alleging finger for the support of the Owu’s and the funding of their desire to invade Otta land through the making of Baales and Obas in the arena of Otta. Recently, the Olota of Ottaland, Oba Alani Osanyintola Oyede, received president Olusegun Obasanjo at his palace over the allegation leveled against the president as per his involvement in the Owu / egbaland’s invasion on the Ottaland.

President Olusegun Obasanjo’s visit to the Olota’s palace was to defend his position and to back-out from the traumatic occurrences and the societal hullabaloo caused by the intruders. The case at hand between Otta/Owu-Egba has been tripped to court. Who is to make the Oba at Ijoko-Otta, Attan-Otta, Baale at Sango and Itele? Who rules Ifo, and where are the king makers’ territorial boundaries? Are presently in the court.
