Wonders Never Cease! A Response to General Muhammadu Buhari

This article is in response to the one by General Buhari (GCFR!!!!!).  Never mind who gave him the wonderful title reserved for the Chief Destroyers of Nigeria.  I simply want to ask what makes him think he has any locus standi for even mentioning the word "DEMOCRACY".

It is only in Nigeria that memories are so short that the perpetrators of countless coups and atrocities will wake up after being thrown out for mismanaging the country, and proceed to lecture the rest of us on 'democracy.'

Dear General, please remember that in on 31st December 1983, you and your friends dispatched a 'democratically' elected President and all his governors (including Odumegwu-Ojukwu who had no office) to Kiri-Kiri and proceeded to try civilians in military tribunals, sentencing them to terms that were hysterically absurd.  Not satisfied, you then sent in your brainless bullet fodder (foot soldiers) to various states to frog jump, whip and generally harass the public, as well as to demand that women who wore trousers produce tax receipts to entitle them do so.  In the absence of a tax receipt, a whipping followed.  I was visiting Nigeria in August 1984 and witnessed this outrage.

You, dear General, also proceeded to execute three people with a retroactive law that disgraced Nigeria world-wide.  That they were drug pushers was not in doubt but a retroactive law killing them puts you on a lower rung than them and therefore strips you of any right to speak to us about democracy.

Dear General, you have yet to explain the whereabouts of the N2.7billion that went missing under your watch when you were petroleum minister.  That N2.7B was worth about US$3billion at that time should make you want to hide in shame.  Your tenure as PTF chairman led to your brother in Law and his friends, who at that time ran a broke consulting firm in Kaduna (AFRIPROJECTS), being put in charge of looting Nigeria's oil revenue and giving ONE contract for $300 million dollars for ONE SCHOOL in Katsina!!! Please be kind enough to show us the amazing shool that cost so much!  Yet the money disappeared for this project. SHAME.

Dear GCFR, you have paraded yourself as 'tested and trusted'.  You are very right.  Nigeria has tested and tasted you. It can definitely trust in your past record and KNOW for certain that the former arrogance has only increased.  Your recent utterances directing moslems on how to vote assures Nigerians that the whole country might yet be put under Sharia Law since you have proven a total stranger to the Rule of Law in the past.

May I also use this forum to ask if you, General Muhammadu BUHARI, remember the penalty for coup-plotting.  In Nigerian Law, the penalty is DEATH (either by firing squad or hanging).    Saddam Hussein has been brave enough to choose his preferred mode of dispatch if found guilty - firing squad.  Please would the brave Grand Commander of the Federal Republic be bold enough to inform Nigerians on his preference. That you are guilty of being a coup plotter is not in doubt - you became a president through it.  Your failed colleagues were duly lined up and shot for failing (remember Vatsa et al and the fate that befell an innocent General Bisalla).  You need to be a man and accept your due.  But before you go the way reserved for you ("he who sheds blood must be go by bloodshed"), please apologise to all the families of those you executed unjustly.  YOur execution will be valid under the law - theirs was not.

If you are deluded enough to think you will ever be president of Nigeria again,  wake up from your slumber!  The same goes for all the others fool enough to think that after murdering their way to power they will ever rule Nigeria again.  JEHOVAH, the God of gods and God of heaven and earth will permit that evil only if the rest of Nigeria has sinned to the point of no return.  In that case we can rest assured that the country's disintegration is a foregone conclusion and that the Rwandan genocide was only child's play.

Dear GCFR, do the country a favour and enjoy your ill-gotten loot in private. And before you have a heart attack at the perceived lack of respect in this article, let me tell you that respect is EARNED and is not your dessert for having shot your way to power and being deposed by a better General than you.  As awful as General Babangida was, he had an advantage most of you failed to see - he believed in helping people and genuinely derived joy from it.  That is why he left office with more goodwill than you will have in ten lifetimes.  However,  he also is guilty of coup-plotting and other atrocities too long to mention and will NOT rule Nigeria again, no matter what the situation looks like now.

Finally, Nigerians, WAKE UP! Refuse to entertain these killers who keep lecturing the country on values they can barely spell. Surely ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
