I’m one of the best admirers of Malam Nuhu Ribadu the Chairman of the exalted EFCC the Commission that is making effort to rid our society with corrupt officials who used their so called exalted positions to enrich themselves. From the time Malam Nuhu Ribadu with his Commission stood up firm without fear or favour working tirelessly to bring all the known culprits to justice so many Nigerians or I can say majority of the populace came out in favour of the work of his Commission while the rest most of them suspected to have committed some economic crimes against our beloved Nation are working seriously to derail the effort of Malam Ribadu and his enviable Commission. Many people are of the opinion that such people who are working day and night against Ribadu and his Commission are only doing so out of envy and malice coupled with prejudice because they have seen this young person has attained such an enviable position in Nigeria which even the President himself has not attained he is loved by almost every body except of course the culprits. The manner in which people spontaneously love and like this young Assistant Commissioner of Police for his effort to bring all the known notorious culprits who embezzle our funds due to intoxitication of power cannot be explained. The way Nigerians show their support for Ribadu and his Commission is enough pointer to all those who can reflect. The Prophet said if people start praising the deeds of someone is a good sign from Allah. Out of love majority of Nigerians are in favour of Nuhu Ribadu and his EFCC for the good and credit they bring to our people and the Country at large. Nuhu Ribadu is the only person who can dare challenge the authority of those persons regarded as untouchables very highly placed sometimes shrewd in Nigeria bringing them to book due to corrupt activities that bring bad publicity and put them to shame. Hitherto the formation of such Commission politicians used to do whatever they liked without iota of shame squandering our wealth and nobody can say anything to them. Now like the time of Buhari and Idiagbon (May Allah Shower His Mercy on Him) when they introduced War against Indiscipline popularly known as WAI more than 20 years when they were in power Nigerians learnt discipline joining the simple queue of buying even the petrol  and other essential commodities. People who used to cheat could not dare do so as they were afraid of the security operatives ready to pounce on them however highly placed a person may be. That is why Nigerians at that time were complaining that Buhari and Idiagbon were too strict and too rigid some use the words like draconian in applying the laws which were all against their wishes and desires. Unfortunately majority of Nigerians are so in-disciplined and are not inclined to subjecting themselves to discipline which they are not used to they see as hardship and against their evil desires preferring to use somebody a relative in authority to go against the normal procedures and escape the wrath of the laws because you are related to some body .At that time almost every one was equal no fear or favour or giving some kind of special preference to some exalted persons.

Equally since the introduction of the EFCC it has nailed so many influential people from the former Inspector General of Police to Governors and other corrupt officials, some were brought to book already and   some are in the process of bringing them to justice. The Commission has already recovered more than 5 billion Dollars from corrupt officials who used their office to enrich themselves and Nigerians could not do anything but what we call in Hausa Allah Ya isa which no body could dare stand against such corrupt officials. Malam Ribadu as a lawyer a criminal investigator by profession as Assistant Commissioner of Police does his job thoroughly and very carefully taking his time to investigate rather than rushing at things. He does not rush or jump to conclusion as we Nigerians sometimes do until all evidence have been gathered against a person before his Commission could nail anybody. Majority of Nigerians irrespective of religious tribal or any other affiliations are now together all united encouraging Malam Ribadu and his Commission to continue with the good work they have been doing. In the course of his job unfortunately he would come across so many people some praising him and some of course accusing him as we said earlier. He should not be dissuaded or persuaded to do injustice in the course of his job which is a Herculean task worthy of emulation by all those people who are sincere and want good and progress of our Nation. The only advice we would give to Ribadu is he should continue to discharge his duty fearlessly and favourably putting the fear of Allah in front of him which will be his guiding principle as he has been doing and In sha Allah as long as he is sincere he will continue to succeed. Therefore the Honourable Chairman of the EFCC should always renew his intention that he is doing this thing only to please his Creator and no one else so long he does this there is no fear or regret for him. He should be firm consistent and steadfast seeking the pleasure of God. I know some people wanted to use the Commission as a tool to oppress other opponents but to me I have given Malam Ribadu benefit of doubt he can not allow himself to be used by anybody for political purpose. Therefore the most important thing that Ribadu should remember is the intention as he knows in the Hadith of the Prophet quoted in Bukhari  about the purification of the intention of (Innamal Aa’amal Bin Niyyah) Actions are judged according to intention. The other Hadith quoted about three people who would be thrown to Jahannam for the luck of Ikhlas sincerity. They are martyr a scholar and a generous person who might have carried their duties insincerely without the least fear of Allah. So this is only a reminder so long Ribadu continues to renew his intention only to please Allah he would continue to be successful and no amount of evil supplications by detractors would detract him from his job which he has been performing wonderfully appreciated by majority of Nigerians. So keep it up don’t fear the criticism of any critic accept any constructive criticism and check your intention at the beginning of your  deeds in the middle and at the end of all your work which you will benefit in both this transitory world and the permanent after death which is the purpose of our lives. So all well meaning Nigerians must lend their support to Ribadu and his Commission for the effort well done as human being he has got his short comings and weakness but at least he has shown the way justifying the confidence reposed in him so keep it up.
