In the on going do or die war recently declared by President Olusegun Obasanjo as the April 2007 general elections gather lack lustre momentum, all cards are on the tables of Aso Rock Presidential Villa and WADATA House Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garrisons commanders respectively. For example, President Obasanjo has wiped out two of the three so-called Nigerian “criminals” aspiring to succeed him in power by deploying and firing only a single missile from his acquired assortments of deadly Weapons of Mass Political Destruction (WMPD) in his on-going do or die political battle with Nigerians.

The three out of the so-called Nigerian “criminals” aspiring to contest in the April 2007 Presidential election are: 1.) Vice President Atiku Abubakar (Turakin Adamawa), 2.) Former military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) and 3.) Former military Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari), in that order of importance. These are the three Nigerians, among the several Nigerians wanting to contest in the April 2007 general elections that President Obasanjo collectively labelled as “Criminals” and thus unfit to hold and be trusted with any public office in Nigeria.

He was reported to have made the dastardly declaration during one of his election campaign stops in Abeokuta some days ago. This bad belle attitude of President Obasanjo is no longer surprising to many Nigerians as he had sworn that he would never handover power to any one of these three Nigerians under any circumstances as long as he is alive and presiding over Nigeria’s democratic leadership succession transition affairs.

With the political liquidation of the war camp of the embattled Vice President Atiku Abubakar by President Obasanjo, General Buhari is the only remaining towering physical and political Gibraltar rock standing on President Obasanjo’s war path and thus, threatening the complete and total landslide electoral victory of President Obasanjo and his surrogate anointed partner-successor, Governor Umar Musa Yar Adua in the forthcoming Nigeria’s April 2007 Presidential election. Therefore, all the remaining cache of the WMPDs, including the conventional and unconventional political weaponry systems, are now been deployed, directed and targeted at the only remaining formidable rival contestant; General Muhammadu Buhari - the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) presidential flag bearer.

I earlier identified President Obasanjo’s deadly weapons of mass political destruction to include among others, the following: The first weaponry category comprise the Nigerian State Establishment; particularly the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) - which is the Nigerian version of Hitler’s Gestapo during the heinous German Nazi reign of terror and blood bath; the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC); the State Security Service (SSS); Office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP); the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal respectively; Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and minister of “Justice” and last but not the least, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The second category of President Obasanjo’s deadly arsenals of WMPD includes the creation and implantation of Trojan horses within the democratic political space. The Trojan horses are found at two levels. The first operational level of the Trojan horses is at the level of formation and registration of surrogate political parties by shadowy forces under the control of President Obasanjo and his co-travellers within the ruling PDP top-level political apparatchiks. The process is aided and abated by the State Establishment; including INEC. Under this grand scheme, more than 50 percent of the existing 50 registered Nigerian political parties were formed and they all work for the interest of Aso Rock and the ruling PDP.

ACCORD party of Nigeria and African Renaissance Party (ARP) are just a few examples of such surrogate registered political parties formed and owned by the State Establishment, Aso Rock Presidential Villa and the ruling PDP. Already, the Aso Rock Presidential Villa paymasters have made the national chairman of the recently formed ACCORD party of Nigeria a minister of state in the Federal Ministry of Environment, Housing and Urban development. In return, the ACCORD party has adopted the PDP Presidential flag bearer. We expect in the next few days to see a line-up of more than 30 of the recently formed surrogate political parties all queuing behind President Obasanjo and Governor Umaru Musa Yar Adua, the anointed PDP 2007 Presidential flag bearer.

The second layer of operation of the Trojan horses is the infiltration of the frontline opposition political parties and their leaderships. Once the shadowy forces working for and on behalf of Aso Rock Presidential Villa paymasters and the ruling PDP infiltrate a frontline political party, the leadership of that ill-fated party is hijacked and made to destroy the party from within. This was what happened to the ANPP both at the national and states levels. The ignoble national leadership of the ANPP under the tenures of Senator Mahmud Waziri, Alhaji Yusuf Ali, Chief Don Etiebet, Governor Attahiru Bafarawa, retired General Jeremiah Useni and most recently, Governor Ali Modu Sheriff of Borno State are good examples to cite. All these supposedly national leaders of the ANPP sold out and betrayed the party and million of its teaming members and admirers. Their sordid actions were part of the grand scheme to hoist a one-party dictatorship and one-man maximum ruler ship for the country by President Obasanjo and his ruling PDP.

The process is the same at the State level of organisation of the ANPP. For example, the most recent Aso Rock Presidential Villa and EFCC induced internal self-destruction suffered by ANPP took place in Kebbi and Sokoto States respectively. In these two ANPP controlled States, Governor Muhammadu Adamu Aliero defected and joined the ruling PDP while Governor Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa defected from the ANPP but was guided by the powers that be, to form and register a surrogate political party named Democratic Peoples Party (DPP); not differently from the ruling PDP!

Also, not long ago, the erstwhile ANPP Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Ibrahim Saminu Turaki defected and joined the ruling PDP and any time from now, the ANPP Governor of Yobe State Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim and his colleagues ANPP Governor of Borno State Ali Modu Sheriff will join the defection train to the ruling PDP. The remaining yet to be conquered and subdued ANPP State Governors are those of Kano State Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau and Ahmed Sani (Yariman Bakura) of Zamfara State respectively. We are anxiously waiting to see where the pendulum will swing in the next coming weeks!

Under this well organised and orchestrated strategic assets tripping of the ANPP by President Obasanjo and his ruling PDP, there will soon be no trace of ANPP in the political map of Nigerian political parties. Take for example, in Sokoto State; the ruling PDP sacrificed its shining-star gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Muktari Shehu Shagari - a former Obasanjo’s Minister of Water Resources for six years. The PDP adopted the erstwhile-embattled former Sokoto State ANPP Deputy Governor as its own negotiated 2007 gubernatorial candidate in Sokoto State; effectively dumping Muktari Shehu Shagari who had earlier won the PDP gubernatorial primaries in the State.

In a similar blitz and tactics, the Kebbi State ANPP anointed successor to the defected ANPP Governor Adamu Aliero was adopted and installed by the ruling PDP as its own Kebbi State gubernatorial flag bearer. Soon, the maverick Comrade Shehu Sani (i.e., the elder brother to Presidential spokesperson Uba Sani.) will soon be contracted by Aso Rock paymasters to start mobilising the faceless so-called Northern Coalitions of civil society organisations against General Muhammadu Buhari. This will then climax the do or die war.

All these strategic do or die political war onslaughts against General Buhari and what is left of his dwindled political structures point to only one thing. And that is, the retention of power by all means and at all costs by President Obasanjo and his ruling PDP at the detriment of all democratic loving people of Nigeria. The great betrayals of the ANPP and its Presidential flag bearer by its foundation members and leaders are great tragedies for multi-party democracy in Nigeria.

The emerging re-drawn political and electoral road map for Nigeria’s 2007 general elections is heavily lined with roadside landmines and Tornado-jet fighters mounted with human-heat-seeking and sensing side-winger missiles systems; put in place by President Obasanjo and his ruling PDP ready to inflict massive destruction of unimaginable proportions to any person walking in the opposite direction of his hidden agenda for Nigeria. For example, some days ago, almost all the major media outlets reported Chief Ojo Maduekwe, the National Secretary of the ruling PDP as saying that Vice President Atiku Abubakar could be arrested if he does any act that warrants it.

Also, as I was writing this piece, there was breaking news, which reported that the Federal Government has charged the former Minister for Internal Affairs and the Director General of the Atiku Campaign Organization Dr. Iyorchia Ayu for terrorism. The charge was filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja and Ayu was said to have conspired with other people namely, Timi Frank and Paul Santos Ofana to commit acts of terrorism in the volatile Niger Delta.

All these are signs of desperation to achieve the sinister objective of undemocratically hoisting an unpopular third-term Obasanjo – Yar Adua ticket (don’t mind about Chief Jonathan Goodluck. He is only being used as a deceptive Niger Delta Sweetener to the Obasanjo – Yar Adua ticket). The next coming weeks are going to be very tough and eventful. We should all remember that there is nothing that is permanent except change. We all pray for Nigeria as we began the downward journey on the slippery slopes of Nigeria’s political hills and valleys. May God Almighty save us from the evil hands of our greedy and treacherous politicians. Amen.
