Those of us who took it upon themselves to write in supports of your government policies through the print media and websites, graciously made available to us free of charge in the last four years will like to assure you that, as from May 29th, 2007 to the end of your second tenure insha Allah using the same medium, the tones of our write-ups will change significantly from that of total support to that of constructive criticism; since all your usual traducers are effectively neutralized and therefore very scanty if any opposition balderdash will be targeted at you and your policies to warrant any defense. We (Kano Electorates) will therefore criticize you whenever you err, in order to ensure that the expectations of the electorates are realized.

In the meantime, we must give glory to Allah (swt) the Omnipotent, the Omniscient, the all conquering Supreme Being who give power to whosoever he wished, and confiscate it likewise from whosoever he willed. Glory is to you for actualizing our dreams, because we know that, without your support we wouldn’t have broken the so-called Jinx. Glory is to you or Allah, for shaming all the retrogressive elements within the state and beyond who never wished our state success. Glory is to you for answering our prayer in the face of seemingly insurmountable huddles placed by the opposition’s elements.

It is imperative for you to reflect about the issues of the past four years and begin to think about possible actions that will hopely led to a better, more purposeful tenure in the coming years ahead. Certainly you have a date with history, you can not afford to fail and the masses expect your name to be written in gold.

While the electorates are highly sympathetic to you in spite of the mistakes recorded, during your first tenure, due to unnecessary distractions, which emanated mostly from the selfish TBO members, internal dissention from within the party, PDP Wahala, the menace of a former minister with access to the corridor of power at the centre who did everything humanly possible to truncate your government covertly and overtly without success. This time around the story has to be different as the masses are not likely going to be as sympathetic as they were in the first tenure; because you have every opportunity to actualize your dreams without lets or hindrance from any quarter,

The masses have complained severally that, your government was unnecessarily soft and lenient in calling a spade a spade. It condoned high-handedness of most of its political appointees; it failed to check the well recorded financial in propriety of the local government chairmen and some of your commissioners. It shows an uncommon tolerance to all the absurdities and atrocities committed by the oppositions. It failed terribly to put a full stop to the libelous slander and un-mitigated lies labeled against it by the oppositions through a private radio station which is incidentally based in Kano.

Sir, our expectations from May 29th are indeed very high, because we are conscious of the fact that, the amount of money accruing to the state from the federation account has almost tripled what you used to received previously due to our recent success in the last census which placed Kano as the most populous state and by virtue of which our revenue earning raised up tremendously. There is also no backlog of pensioner’s entitlement to be settled; neither do you have any un-paid arrears for our civil servants, though we did not begrudged them for their unusual luck in the last couple of years, having exhausted their energy to the service of our beloved state, we wish henceforth, to have a very strong policy redirection toward the ordinary people.

We expect greater emphasis on the development of the rural areas, since in the first tenure, most of our rural towns and villages were neglected. We desire to see you appoint and fire any non-cooperative political appointees no-matter how highly placed and connected. The situation were a political appointees will be caught red handed in a shoddy deals and all what we hear from you was Allah ya Isa or there is no concrete evidence, is quit disheartening to say the least (with apology) and has to give way to a more drastic measures which will served as a deterrence to any future wrongdoers. We will also like your government to limit the FREEDOM of some partisan Electronic media outfits that have clearly crossed the bounds of ethical journalistic practices; as experience has shown that, no state executive in the thirty five states of the federation plus the FCT, will tolerates such brazen disregards for decency and decorum.

In the last tenure there was excessive favoritisms in the spread of projects within the metropolitan local governments Areas, while some areas got more than what they bargained for others were unfortunately neglected (e.g. Bawo Road Hausawa Zoo). We therefore demand justice and equal treatment to all the components part of our dear State. We also want a complete departure from unnecessary delay in the executions of capital projects as this caused so many discomforts to the affected areas.

For your government to records greater success, efforts should be made to appoint only credible  people with proven track records of achievements and untainted past records, who share your ideals and are willing to help in the implementation and ultimate realization of set objectives., because in the first tenure many characters with varying tendencies were appointed whom at the end turned out to be Judas Iscariots and fifth columnist; busy sabotaging the government and divulging some sensitive secrets to the oppositions.
This government has no excuse whatsoever for failure to surpass its previous achievements, as the masses having successfully checkmated all the stumbling blocks along the way, by resisting intimidation, blackmail and relentless propaganda from the oppositions, and also, having singularly ensure your land slides victory at the polls which gives you a free hand to operates without any extraneous meddlesomeness, will ensure that, any perceived laxity is resisted. Sir, we will not hesitate to give your administration the Kwankwaso treatments should you failed to effect changes in most of the identified issues above. And while you enjoy our tremendous good will, we wish Good Luck and a very successful tenure!
