Nigeria and the Phantom Terror Threat

Not long ago, America issued a warning to her nationals living in the country to be extra careful about the possibility of terrorist attacks in Nigeria! A similar warning followed, this time by Australian governments reminding her citizens to always be mindful about their safety while conducting their businesses. But any keen observer of the unfolding politics and International relations will readily understand the thinly veiled attempt by the so-called world police in their shameless hypocrisy, double standard and insatiable quest for an opportunity to control and plunder the vast natural resources of our country.

The latest threat has not been the first in the series of well crafted measures and certainly may not be the last attempt to cause disaffections among the law abiding citizens of this great country with the sole intent to dismember and have unfettered access to its natural endowments. The calculations according to analysis by some conscientious intellectuals is that, in the event of break up, the resulting banana republics may not be able to posed any significant resistance to them. It will also easily allow them to engage the differing Nigerian nationalities into war of attritions. But our own country will never ever be converted into a theatre of war like Iraq, Afghanistan and now, most likely Iran!

If we go back a bit into memory lane, we can easily remember that such attempts were made during the reign of the late great patriot, General Sani Abacha of blessed memory. During that period, a group of so-called American think tank predicted that, Nigeria will not survive as a united entity in the very near future, due to what they regarded then as very serious agitations by different ethnic nationalities, Niger delta up-rising, religious and ethnic clashes and the infamous issue of tazarce1. A book was even written by somebody titled: ‘this house has fallen’ to buttress their hope for an imminent catastrophe, but Nigeria survived much to their utter chagrin and came out more stronger, thank to the time tested resilience of Nigerians who are more than ever before, committed to the consolidations of  the gains of  the founding fathers.

In the count down to the year 2003 general elections, a similar prediction was made. At that time, the agents of dooms succeeded in instilling fear into some of us who genuinely love this country. What lead to this was the palpable fear about whether the elections will be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere devoid of  rancour or not  coupled with the many politically motivated assassinations and the do-or-die nature of the various political gladiators. Many Nigerians including yours sincerely, was hoodwinked into believing the useless and utterly baseless predictions which mercifully failed to materialise.

The same trend was repeated early this year when Nigerians were getting set for the 2007 elections. This time the prediction was that Nigeria will collapse in fifteen years time, based on their hypothetical and so-called circumstantial evidences that suggested an imminent strife resulting from the flaw nature of the elections to be conducted then, but despite the well acknowledged flawed in the conduct of the elections by Nigerians and the international community, including Mr. President himself, who happened to be the greatest beneficiary of the whole exercise, our country has remain mercifully peaceful, united and indissoluble! All the aggrieved parties in the last elections, most especially the presidential candidate of the ANPP, General Muhammad Buhari (Rtd) and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar are now in court waiting for the incorruptible Justice Kutigi, a man with a no-nonsense mien to decide the true outcome of the elections.

If Nigeria can survived the Abacha dictatorship and Obasanjo’s’ undemocratic posture where the corporate existence of this great country reached a nadir, with devide and rule along ethnic and religious divides elevated to national prominence plus the infamous Tazarce2 (third term) being forced on our throats, coupled with disasters like frequent Air crashes and extra-ordinary subservience to the western powers, I see no any course for alarm under a servant leader who is level-headed and is so-far guided by the complete respect for the rule of law, equity, justice and good personal examples.

This sequence of terrorist threats therefore, reminds me of a book I once read, titled: “the Jewish conspiracy” which completely brought to the fore the struggle by an inconsequential percentage of the world populations, represented by the Zionist enclave to dominate and pillage the world resources. It was stated that: “the most potent weapons to be adopted to constantly subjugate the innocent peoples are: Hunger, diseases like HIV/AIDS, and instilling of fear in the minds of the goyim/gentiles (non-Jews)”, like the current   phantom terror threats in Nigeria being surreptitiously propagated piecemeal.

It is imperative to appreciate the fact that, so long these tiny cabals are allowed to continue to dictate to the world, through overt and covert manipulations without challenge, so long the whole world continue to remain painfully silent and intimidated by the real terrorist, so long we remain docile and allow them to continue to shaped world opinions through their various mediums of propaganda; the world will never know peace. It is therefore pertinent for all men of good conscience to begin to think on how to checkmate unbridle, arrogant and supercilious behaviours of these tiny leeches.

And like I said earlier, our natural resources, upon which the hawks continue to salivate and loll their noxious tongues, are the exclusive properties of Nigerians to enjoy. It therefore became incumbent upon our leaders, to be very reasonable and conscientious at all time on this very dangerous issue. They need to treat the issues of terrorist threats with great circumspections in order to safeguard the fragile unity of our country. Any opportunity that will enable them to read through the motives of the originators of these phantom threats and understand their thinly veiled desires to cascade dangerously on our collective patrimony given the slightest opportunity must be explore to save our great country from the needless catastrophe, because these people are never known to waver in their diabolical scheming.

It is gratifying however, to note that at least under ‘yaradua, the lies about terror attack has failed to force our leaders into taking a precipitate and unnecessary actions on peace loving Nigerians Muslims who are indisputably major stakeholders in the Nigeria project. It is also gladdening to appreciate the fact that, most Nigerians across religious divides, especially Christians have reasonably understood the motives of the Actual terrorist who have made this world quite un-safe for peaceful human habitations. The carnage in Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan is a sufficient food for thought for us to reflect deeply with a view to avoid any action that will give them a leeway to actualise their dastardly objectives in our country.

On a final note, our country whether the hawks like it or not will remain a united, peaceful and indestructible entity by the special grace of God. A country where the labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain.A country whose unity will remain non-negotiable. A country where reciprocal coexistence, mutual tolerance, religious harmony and understanding will continue to reign supreme! A country where its leaders can never be hoodwinked into taking unnecessary measures howsoever, by mere issuance of notice to foreign nationals based on unsubstantiated rumour and strong penchant for an opportunity to plunder our huge natural resources. And if peradventure such terror attacks are contrived and executed in any component part of our country in order to generate false evidence as we saw in other countries; Nigerians at home and in the Diasporas should know who blame and consequently point accusing fingers!!
