Of recent some Lagos/Abuja based newspaper have make it a habit of writing so many articles on our Governor and his family, although I normally ignore such rubbish, but when I read the editorial of a respected newspaper in the country in which the editorial carried out by the newspaper was titled “NYAKO AND HIS FOUR WIVES” although am not a journalist, but for the better part of my thirty years of existence, reading newspaper was and is still my hobby, from the days when I wait for an adult in the family to buy a paper, before I have access to it,  to today when I can simply afford to buy one for myself or to log on to the internet and read my favorite paper, even before it hit the news stand, it use to be as far as I can remember that editorial of a any newspaper carries a story of great importance to the immediate area of its readership and such story must be of immense importance and when it’s a national paper, it is expected the editorial will be an issue that is of national importance.

But when a national newspaper decide to be so lazy, that it carries frivolous, personal issue and run it as its editorial leave so much to be desired and not only that when the content is full of false statements make some of us that have friends, that we have in high esteem in the profession of journalism feel so bad, come to think of it cant the newspaper run for just a day without editorial?, or cant they decide that today our team are so busy that we cannot have editorial. But looking closely at the editorial in question shows how journalist in their effort to sensationalize news and sell their newspaper go extra mile in twisting facts and polish events in order to satisfy their selfish interest or someone else’s  interest.  I do not understand why the personal affairs of an individual, governor or otherwise should become the editorial of a National daily.  I did not remember the paper writing about Obasanjo and his Brigade of wives and mistresses, which the whole nation knows, why now?

Although, I am not yet to have my family, but I grew up to find my late father with four wives, and I know what it means growing up in such family, I am proud to have come from such family, for I still passionately remembers and miss the love and care that flows, I grew up hardly distinguishing between my steps mums, as to who is my mother and who is not, yet as I grow up I also realized the special intricacies of such setup, which is indeed very difficult for anyone without such background to understand, yet still each family with a single wife or four wives have its own problems Let me ask you OGA EDITOR don’t you ever have your own kind of problem(s) in your home? Even the almighty dictionary recognized the Word “DOMESTIC PROMBLEM”

I cannot say the Nyako family is all roses, being human why do you expect him  to be a super man , we all know that it’s total impossibility for anyone to claim such, but one thing I can say, I am opportune to meet Admiral Nyako and relate with the children of the governor way before he became governor, and by God  the modesty and level headedness displayed by the children and the closeness to God displayed by all those that I come across is an indication that their absolutely no way such children will come from broken home or quarrelsome wives as the editorial team of Guardian wants us to believe.  When you relate with them hardly will you be able to know, who is the sibling of which of the wife, they are so modest that now that their father is governor they see it as nothing to be proud of, and I can assure you nothing the Government House of Adamawa State will give his family that he the “Admiral” has not given them before and to them being what he is today is rather a challenge.

The editorial team of the newspaper and many of the articles written by different writers, in their editorial and articles tries although I don’t know for what reason,  to portray our Governor as one who cannot put his house in order, yes there can be a bad element just like in every house hold, or rather the BLACK SHEEP of the family it can either be any of the wives or from the children. On this from my little experience I share with the Nyako’s family when I was in Yola, it is certainly not the aforementioned Hajiya Zainab (a.k.a) Gogo Petal, meaning small mother after the most senior wife. She is very modest, calm, warm and welcoming, and what is wrong if a wife chooses to be a full time wife after voluntarily retiring and returning home with her husband after his successful carrier.

I wish the editorial team and the other authors will come to the state and see how the state is being shaped, how discipline is restored in all facet of the state and how the mantle of government is moving smoothly under the able leadership of Murtala Hammanyaro Nyako. I am sure as a retired Admiral who has once control the entire Naval Fleet of the country there is absolutely no way controlling his wives will be a problem.  Although, most of the article were written by Christian who hide under the disguise of being Christian and therefore do not understand polygamy, but just for a moment imagine how can a Yoruba man or an Igbo man tell you he do not understand polygamy, it is obvious there is hidden forces of mischief behind the many articles on our Governors family, whoever is hiding behind such lazy journalist who for the fact that grew up in areas where boxing and wrestling matches between wives is a constant pastime for the whole street, will be expose very soon or perhaps some else who is know to be power drunk even in the Nyako’s family is vowing for a bite of war and personality deformation if she did not get what she desire. I may be wrong but who ever is this masquerade soon the mask will be unveiled and the can of worms be open. A word is enough for the wise….One day monkey will go to market and e-no go come back!

Well, let it be on record that here in the North we practice true polygamy, that is build on the fabrics of love, respect and understanding, small misunderstanding is bound to take place and such issues are resolve in the same way with love, respect and understanding, what, how and when its resolve is not for the external eyes, am sure the number one family have put this issue behind them for a long time.

I wish all those lazy journalist that want to keep our number one family on the spot light because of this story should braze up and come down to the state and see the giant strides of our Governor and his achievement in the space of just 100days Adamawa State is Ten Years behind and a lot is to be done and possibly all hands must be on deck.  And on the other hand how his wives are contributing their quota in the development of the state, by setting up NGO’s financed and sponsored solely by donor organizations and not the state coffers, as mischievously alleged by some of the writers.  Let it be on the record again that we in Adamawa State and the Diaspora are fully behind our Governor and his family, and we appreciate what the government is doing for us now, in fact, in Adamawa we all know and will never forget the evil men with one wife as governors do, especially when such governors are controlled by men who have six wife and string of Bolingo Boys.

So the please Lagos/Abuja based newspapers if you cannot report the achievement of our governor please stay away from him and his family ‘there is no news in his house but development in the state that is touching all the ordinary men/women of our state.
