We the Voice of the Niger Delta in the Diaspora (VNDD) wishes to congratulate Gov Rotimi Amaechi, the Supreme Court enthrone governor of Rivers state.  We unanimously applaud the effort of the Supreme Court for their rational judgment and courage to drive a huge nail to Odilism in R ivers state to a final end. Though the dawn of Amaechi as the governor of Rivers State may not have been the most practical judgment made, it punched culture into the head of PDP and INEC whose activities under OBJ and Odili utterly underdeveloped the Niger Delta as a whole and Rivers state in particular. Even if in practice the ongoing election tribunal in Rivers State subsequently annulled the government of Amaechi, the process and mechanism of bringing an Odili totally controlled governor to rule rivers state may be slim if not impossible in any subsequent election in Rivers state. It is laudable and spells hope to Rivers People, home and abroad. Be it as it is now, we expect Govenor Amaechi to  dish out the same  justice and fairness the supreme court offered him, to Rivers people too, We therefore  wish to state as follows;

We want to let Governor Amaechi figure out that, God must have been looking for a way to rescue Rivers people and the only way to get Pharaoh down on his kneels was to use his only son (Amaechi)  now the Moses of Rivers State,  to lead the Rivers State people from Egypt.  Amaechi was therefore just a tool use to correct the mayhem Odili orchestrated for eight straight years in Rivers state. We believe old things have passed away, and now everything is new. If God has so forgiven Ameachi, been the legal power behind all the political mayhem in Rivers State by way of holding down the State assembly eight straight years for Odili, Amaechi has no moral standing to be angry with those commissioners and Special advisers that served under Celestine Omehia for just four months. Rumors have that the special advisers (especially) were sworn in two weeks before Supreme Court asked Amaechi to take over.  We equally understand that few of these special advisers never get one kobo from their appointment.  Immediately after their appointment, some of them left to attend conferences and other personal matters, on their returned, the administration that gave them appointment was gone; they neither get the regular furniture allowance nor any allowance from the appointment because as at the time they left, they were yet to have an office space. What then could be the rational behind Amaechi's boys emotionally demanding the heads of this commissioners and special advisers, and asking the Governor to ensure they are place behind the fence of governance in Rivers State as long as Ameachi reigns.  Word on the street also has that Amaechi’s  fire is particular intending at burning PDP stake holders that participated in the PDP general election campaign, technically speaking, according to Amaechi’s boys, this people were the people that ensure Omehia to be governor of Rivers State. How could any body be so myopic, on whose campaign is Amaechi governor today, and what did the Supreme court say, ‘Omehia was holding brief for Amaechi’  obviously speaking, this people directly worked to ensure PDP win election in Rivers state which eventually made it possible for Amaechi’s case to stay relevant until supreme court handed him his office. If PDP had not won in Rivers State , Amaechi would not have had any case in the Supreme Court.

 Practically speaking, if Amaechi listen to all this hooligans whom he carried over from Odili’s administration, his administration will be another big failure in Rivers state. As far as we are concern, most Amaechi’s boys are hoodlums recruited by Odili between 1999 and 2003.  If Amaechi must be angry, he should hand it down on former loyalists and confidants that were with him from the foundation of his political quest. Any of this loyalist that eventually back out on him during his political birth pang are the disputed members of his kitchen cabinet, and not other PDP loyalists whose loyalty to the party earned them appointments, and definitely, not other PDP aspirants that were disqualified unfairly. Amaechi have to carry these PDP stakeholders along.

Amaechi should also remember that during the PDP primary that eventually ended in the Supreme court, other PDP Guber candidates decided to walk out from the stadium because of what they call ‘no election’ but mere ‘selection’. This people have legitimate claims against the whole process that today brought Amaechi to power through the emotional order of the Supreme Court. We therefore urge Governor Amaechi to form a government of state unity not only with other political parties but also with the PDP members that briefly served under Omehia and definitely with his fellow aspirants, whom in Amaechi’s quest to must be the governor of Rivers state, were underprivileged of a fair PDP primary election because of his accessibility to Odilism at that time. This applies to both the ones that were grudgingly cleared and the ones that were unfairly disqualified. It is only at this juncture, peace and justice will be dished to every one that was victimized by the great tribulation of Odilism in the last election in Rivers state.

In conclusion, we are urging governor Amaechi to seek peace with his party PDP, in other to legitimize the platform using as the governor of Rivers state, that way; Odili would not be able to mobilize his Abuja friends to cause any more political turbulence in Rivers state.
