I have read with dismay, the recent revelation of a fraud involving such a colossal amount of money in our Primary Education Board in the state, in New Nigeria newspaper weekly –onlie. It is derogatory to our mental faculties; it is uncivilized and above all most unfortunate.

Governor Murtala Nyako of the state is to take the blame. This is because, looking at the way and manner the so-called Board Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Tukur-Liman, ruined the board during the days of governor Boni Haruna, still Nyako  came to insist on appointing him to continue as the chairman of the board, knowing fully the kleptocratic tendencies inherent in the Dr. Tukur as displayed vividly with Governor Boni’s administration.

How are we even sure that the so-called chairman was not trying to cover his destructive atrocities committed during the Boni Haruna days with this his ‘internal administrative panel’? How, for God sake, a fraud of such dimension could only be discovered now, that is some few months after the Governor Nyako’s 100 days in office? Could fraud of this dimension involving 900 million perpetrated under this government or it has it traces since the Boni Haruna Administration? Did Murtala Nyako investigated Dr Tukur tenure before allowing his to continue or is just that he allowed his based on sentiments of creed and ethnic solidarity? These are some fundamental questions which people will seek to know.

Govrnor Nyako, should seek to know, what are the atrocities committed by the Chairman during the Boni Haruna’s hey days? In terms of contract awards, general primary school administration, prudence in resource utilization, wages and salaries administration and project citing. It is a know fact in all the state that the Secretaries of our local education authorities LEA’s since before now, use two different vouchers to prepare salaries, with returns at the end of the day going to the Chairman of the Board, for allowing such corrupt act, who ever said anything on that? Was it in the same light that his appointment was extended?

The chairman should not use his principal officers to as a scapegoat or rather use them to clean his sins. He should know that as an ‘assumed’ intellectual, he was at the board to help the government in translating the greatest happiness to the greatest number, which explains even the most fundamental essence of governmental existence. You should know that in this era of citizens participation of what goes around their governance, you should not fool us all, all the time.

I am therefore calling on the members of the house of assembly to investigate the Chairman of the Board first, from his day one as chairman of the Board before allowing any investigation in the board, for he is not a saint, more so, we all know of his kleptocratic tendencies and romance with the past government.
