Nuhu Ribadu: Dankano's Article

I have my doubts if Suleiman Dankano possesses the PhD D that he attaches to his name.

Before I continue, in some of my articles posted on the Gamji site I have castigated Nuhu Ribadu then as the hunting dog of OBJ and  PDP.Please read the fraud called election in Adamawa state and many others.

Dear Mr Dankano Ph.D., your article on the removal of Nuhu Ribadu made an interesting reading though it appeared full of emotions.

Some of us are not against the removal of Nuhu Ribadu as chairman of the EFCC per se but against the mod us operandi of his removal and the reasons for which he was removed.

If Peter Odilli could not account for #300  Billion Naira per your article I mean you can imagine how much James Ibori couldn't account for. The mere fact that the British Police traced £35 million pounds sterling to one of Ibori's account in London along is enough an evidence for Nuhu Ribadu to be allowed to continue with the trial in Kaduna as EFCC chairman.

I personally cannot understand your outcry and your emotion about Ribadu.

It is true we have castigated Ribadu in the Past for some of his undoing. But don't you think he has started on the right path by arresting one criminal and bringing him to justice?

Amongst other allegations against Ibori is the fact that he has massive moneys stashed in America, South Africa, Dubai, Namibia and of cause the UK. More so the papers were awash with stories of how Ibori bankrolled the campaign of Yar adua. So is it bad that he brought Ibori to trial? I am sure the process of bring the other looters to justice was in the process before his removal.

Talking about Ribadu's promotion, did Ribadu promote himself?

Is Ribadu part of the Police board or council? Haba Suleiman stop being emotional.

It is part of the Police and Military tradition to promote Officers and Men for gallantry anyway. In a normal society that honors hard work and gallantry Ribadu should be the IG of police by now at least for successfully prosecuting Tafa Balagun, Wabara and many other corrupt politicians. People like Gowon, Babangida and Abdulsalami promoted themselves to Generals in the Nigerian Army in addition to looting the National treasury what do you say to that?

I am sure you must have read too how the chief defender of Looters and Attorney Aaondokaa made every effort and used all the arsenal in his armoury to prevent Ibori from being tried. Now that Nuhu Ribadu is out of the way, you will see that at the next hearing of Ibori's case all the charges against him will be dropped and Ibori will come out and continue to enjoy his loot. If actually all the persons you mentioned in your write up are being tried in the court of Law then there is good news for Nigeria. In my view Nuhu Ribadu despite his short comings deserves a GCFR for his worthy contribution to national development instead of these crook politicians that will be hosted to a dinner at our expense in the New Year for looting the treasury. Somebody has written about the National honours in the Tribune already there is no need talking about it. But he did mention the fact Patricia Etteh missed it by the whiskers. David Mark has a GCON, Demeji Bankole CFR. Even our friend Tafa fire for fire got a CFR before his scandals likewise Adolphus Wabara. In Nigeria, it is not your contribution to National development that qualifies for Honor but your political office. How about that Bankole?

Mallam Dankano, there is a saying that you don't change a winning team moreso when the captain is about to score a decisive and an all important goal.

The contribution of Nuhu Ribadu to the Nigerian image in fighting corruption is appreciated globally that something can actually happen in Nigeria.

The western press despite their hostility to good things in developing Countries and especially Nigeria have singled out Nuhu Ribadu and Dora Akunyili for praises for their great war against corruption and Drug trafficking.

I would have though that persons like you that are well schooled would have criticised Ribadu constructively and urge him to go after the other looters still enjoying borrowed air of freedom.

Amongst those you have mentioned that are being persecuted because they are minorities who amongst them can honestly say they have not looted state treasury.

After all the Bible says if you have 100 sheep and one gets lost  won't you leave the remaining 99 in the bush to go and look for the lost one?

Unfortunately Ribadu has been removed. Now let us see what becomes of the EFCC post Ribadu era. Yar adua, Ibori,Anenih, Aoondokaa and Okiro have won round one.

It is like welcome back IBB days where CORRUPTION was walking korokoro on its four feet.

Happy New Year.
