The Trouble with hypocrites

A hypocrite is a person who pretends to have moral standards or opinions that they do not actually have. The character traits of hypocrites are like that of an envious person who spends his days destroying himself by feeling sorry for that which he could not achieve but others have. He feels sorry and regretful and desires all people to live in misery and infliction while plotting to deprive them of their happiness. Envious make the fortune of others their goal. They apply every method to deprive others their fortune or talents. They are prey to their lonely wants without realising it. The envious manifest their evil intentions by spreading rumours, accusations and lies about the envied ones. If they feel that their lusts are not satisfied by doing this, they may even go as far as to encroach upon their freedom or even deprive them of the right to live just to fulfill their endless want.

In recent time, we have been inundated with the treacherous activities of a certain hypocrite, who claims to live in Hau-sa-wa enclave of the pyramid State. At a time, he wrote certain article against the state government and wrote another one to commend himself using pseudo name. This man has always been naively critical of the government he has benefited immensely from. At the beginning, the hypocrite told his gullible readers that in Kano, there was development in reverse gear. Not satisfied with this lustful hypocritical opinion, he woke up again from his deep slumber and made alarm with his unfulfilled promises and later landed with his hanky panky piece, the endemic poverty in Kano. He is however not alone in this suicide mission, which has now crashed in the dark tunnel of unwholesomeness.

In the world of this hypocrite, it is an offence to respond against his belated views; else one would find himself in trouble because it is hard to atone for the imaginary sins. After series of internet e-mail wars full of invectives, which are not known to the public, the hypocrite saw that I was not a man to be rattled with useless name callings because I am focused. His futile mission was to get me out of the way so that he can use what he has (blackmail) to get what he wants (grease in the palm) from the government. The wayo wayo way of getting rich these days is for one to marshal out lies and pretend to be with the masses through malicious write ups against the government for any likely recognition. Whoever try to satisfy his conscience by stating the truth shall be tagged "sycophant." Not quite long ago, one of these hypocrites journalising along Wapa area of the pyramid state forced grease in his palm only to deceptively throw more bombs in anticipation of another benefit. It has been his style of ya ci amana!

In my usual consistent way of putting the record straight, even when Governor Shekarau had not dreamt of becoming governor, I briefly drew the attention of the hypocrite to a portion of his huge benefits he realised from the gentle governor, who out of his Godliness and one who could not see his former prefect at the Garkuwa college along Gidan Murtala in wretchedness. He decided to uplift the hypocrite from the nadir of his poverty to the limelight of recognition. Although he was astounded by this reminder, he nonetheless decided to be funny. He reported me to one of the big officers of the same government he myopically criticises, appearing holier than thou, not knowing that his antics have been well documented. He did all these in order to curry favour from the government but the government won't be a fool.

As I said, the hypocrite has sent series of nonsense to my mail box to stop me from defending what he called "defenceless." But I won't stop because my conscience as a wound can only be healed with truth. Unfortunately for this man who now parades himself as a "shun of the shoil", he lately got wind of the great injustice meted out to me more than ten years ago in one of the citadel of learning in the north and now decides to make foolish noise about what he knows nothing about, all in his dubious attempt to make me feel guilty of sins I have not committed in order to have a field day. Still, I brushed his threats of blackmail into the dustbins. This is simply because I consider blackmail an act of putting pressure on a person or a group to do something they do not want to do by way of threat or making them feel guilty. My consistent supports through various write ups for the governor to succeed, increases more than ever before because I simply believe in his capability to deliver dividend of democracy.

Sadly enough, most of these empty written threats via my mail box are full of malapropism, devoid of common rules in the English structure, which convinced me beyond reasonable doubt that the hypocrite was after all not the author of most of his write ups critical of the government. The editors of the manuscripts of this hypocrite must have suffered a lot before his write ups see the light of the day. I was highly bemused in his recent mail to me where his true colours in the knowledge of English were put to test. Few examples of his language deficiency will suffice. "When did I ever told you", "made mentioned", "I can't dignified", etc. How he managed to pass his ordinary level English is still a mystery. This is just by the way.

Above all, I am glad that after all the pains and troubles he took to criticise Governor Shekarau, he has now realised the futility of his adventure by pleading with the governor and his administration forgiveness, admitting that he and his fellow travelers in Kano "held no grudges against the person of their teacher and mentor who has over the years helped to mould their thinking on moral rectitude, honesty, dedication and hard work." The hypocrite, crashing into sycophantic adulator shamelessly went further to submit in totality that "Shekarau's success is theirs and likewise his failure." "We were together with him through thick and thin when he was relatively unknown in Kano's murky political terrain and will certainly remain together …in due course." Why did it take the hypocrite so long a time to realise this fact or what made him to swallow his vomit at the eleventh hour are questions that only him can answer. Whether or not the amiable governor and his aids will accept this crocodile tears confession of the erstwhile school prefect- turned- dissident is left for them.

But I must quickly remind the governor and his administration that hypocrites like chameleons wear many colours. A son that publicly insults and occasionally throws pebbles at his father is not worth a son. As a matter of fact, they should not forget in hurry what our holy Qur'an says about the hypocrites (Munafiqoons). They are indeed liars and truly evil are their deeds. They believed, and then they rejected faith. So, a seal was set on their hearts because they understand not. They are as worthless as hollow, unable to stand on their own. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies and so beware of them. The curse of Allah is on them. How are they deluded from the truth, only to now pretend that all is over?

If however it is true that the hypocrite has seen the light in his dark tunnel, he should start writing to reverse all the nonsense he has written against the people's governor and his administration in the past, records of which are intact. This is better than desperately looking for another favour through his fictitious confession. One had thought that the hypocrite has principles, not knowing that he was only casting stones at Shekarau government in anticipation of being called for settlement. It is not surprising therefore that the hypocrite has always provided his telephone number at the end of his invective.  It is rather unfortunate and a great setback to rabble rousers parading themselves as critics in the journalism profession.

The hypocrite, just as he was cursed by Allah (SWT) in the holy Qur'an, has seen the end of the road by this singular exposition of his conscience, which lacks truth. Indeed, Allah has made him to expose himself and wash his own dirty linen for the world to see the kind of person he was. When next this man writes again from his Hau-sa-wa enclave, we shall know him less. Indeed, there is nothing as devastating and exposing as eating back one's vomit like what the hypocrite has done to himself on 17th October 2008. This shall remain green in the memory of his unfortunate readers who the hypocrite has been deceiving through his uninformed write ups. Allah yala anci munafooqi, Amen!
