Mrs. Adebayo: My Nigerian Mother of
the Year

As I expected the usual deal between the
Ineffective National Electoral Commission and the very unpopular
Peoples Destruction Party continue to unfold, it is very much clear to
the Nigerian masses, the kind of election that the Nigerian masses
should expect, come 2011.
The practicing stage of how the Nigerian
masses would be robbed come 2011 general elections is
Ekiti
State. Mr.
President promised the people of
Ekiti
State a free and
fair gubernatorial re- run election. Contrary to his promise, results
in some areas of the said state have already been falsified in favor
of a particular candidate. An ill conceived idea was also put in place
in order to create tension that would lead to offering the popular
will of the electorate to the wrong person. The truth of the matter is
that from the onset, the authorities involved have no plans to conduct
a free and fair governorship election in
Ekiti
State.
If well meaning Nigerians do not stand
up to see that important things are done in the right direction
towards the plight of the citizenry, then, their days I think are
beginning to end because it is absolutely true that our days begin to
end the very day we begin to remain silent on issues that matter. The
2011 Election is fast approaching and you can imagine the experiment
that is being done with Ekiti state by those in power in order to
remain there regardless of the means. The Rtd. Justice Uwais led panel
report is trying to be swept under the carpet and Nigerians are
keeping quiet in the name of peace while some unscrupulous elements
are trying to play over the collective intelligence of the poor
Nigerian masses. How on earth can we have a violent free
Nigeria when
leaders are being imposed on us? Why is it that some people lack
common conscience? Things will certainly not continue in this manner.
Just consider the current situation in
Ekiti
State. The chief
electoral fraud umpire that the country has ever had was boastfully
trying to misinform the public that Mrs. Adebayo, the Resident
Electoral Commissioner of Ekiti State was ill and that results of the
gubernatorial elections will not be announced till the next two weeks.
If as a professor he had sat back to think of what was in his mind
before he poured it to the public for consumption, he would have
noticed that he was only trying to tell Nigerians that the election in
Ekiti state was planned not to be free and fair. If not, how on earth
can you predict the time frame in which a sick person can last before
recovery? Does that actually make sense? This is a man that Nigerians
have consistently been demanding for his sack because he has nothing
to offer the country as far as elections are concerned. Unfortunately,
the unruly Peoples Destruction Party through their led Government is
trying to keep this man on seat till when their purported agenda is
achieved. In fact, I guess this is one of the seven point agendas of
Mr. President because aside corruption and the current electoral
fraud, the current dispensation has not offered anything worthy of
note to the Nigerian masses.
From the other side, Mr. Mike Okiro is
declaring Mrs. Adebayo,a dutiful 73 year old woman who has selflessly
served her fatherland in different capacities wanted! Simply because
she does not want to do what she knows is against the rule of God,
which is lying. They actually positioned her there, thinking she would
dance according to their tone. Unfortunately for them, she happened to
be a God Fearing woman. Isn’t it unfortunate that those who are in
power are perpetrators of crime themselves?
Is it not criminal to declare a woman
wanted simply because she doesn’t want to commit an act that is
contrary to her spiritual conscience? I just cannot imagine the kind
of people we have that are steering our institutions in this country.
This is a woman that deserves to be the Nigerian mother of the year as
a result of her prudence. In fact, she needs to be given a national
honour. This is a country that is trying to fight corruption.
On a final note, Mr. Mike Okiro needs to
be investigated for sending 10,000 policemen to
Ekiti
State without any
impact. This implies that the institution he is heading is performing
below expectation. Left for me, Mr. Mike Okiro and Prof. Iwu are not
fit to head public offices in the first instance.
